This will be my last post here as I think this site is designed to make Nissan owners think they can't fix this stuff themselves and by that, offer either misinformation or information that would tend to push the vehicle into the dealer so they can take advantage of the owner with over priced and unnecessary repairs.
Nissan owners BEWARE of advice on this site!

The filler neck is not metal. If you can't tell the difference between metal and plastic you probably shouldn't be working on the car anyway. Owning a lift hardly makes you a technician. Any idiot can buy the tools to fix a car. You can doubt that the canister is the problem all you want. The fact is I work on these cars everyday and replace them quite often. If you don't aprreciate good advise from experienced Nissan Master technicians then go ahead, spend a bunch of wasted money trying to fix it yourself. Oh and by the way, when you finally realize that it is the canister causing the leak, Have fun getting the subframe apart and back together yourself. I won't be available to offer any useful tips.
